Municipal waste management (SWM) has become a priority for Nigerian Government both at National and State level due to increase in urban population and high consumption rate Of the inhabitants. Various policies and efforts have been put in place to address the issue of waste management/disposal especially in Cross River State yet, solid waste continue to take over our streets especially during the raining season. Waste dump on water channels including gutters by citizens contributes greatly to flooding in Calabar Metropolis and other cities across the state.
