GREENCODE in the past year continued their project in monitoring and tracking public expenditure. This project is an extension of European Union grant thro Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD), Abuja. The project witness the following activities; - Budget literacy education for 20 community people, - Training of Trainers (TOT) - Formation of Budget Monitoring Committee in 4 locations in CRS. - Collating and Tracking of State Budget information. - Public Policy Analysis etc. A total of 10 Budget Monitoring committee members were trained and were drawn from Nigerian Gender Budget Network, Associations of People with Disabilities, BMCs from Calabar South, Akpabuyo, Akamkpa and Calabar Municipality and GREENCODE....

GREENCODE/UNDP/GEF/SGP PROJECT

  Green Concern for Development (GREENCODE) works for the promotion of environmental and human rights protection in and around the coastal forest communities through education, information sharing, research and direct community demonstration interventions. GREENCODE with support from United Nations Development Programmes (UNDP) and Global Environment Facility (GEF), intend to implement “Mangrove Conservation Project in Esuk Mba and Akwa Esuk Iyamba Communities'' in Akpabuyo Local Government Area of Cross River State. The project aimed at reducing household carbon emission by 30% and encouraging the use of alternative energy sources and also promoting environmental conservation at the grassroots level, through energy, environmental and climate change education to schools and communities.
